7. We will launch LIV THRU ART at a Gallery opening at Studio 2091 in Cuyahoga Falls on September 29th, 2012 and will feature the art of our Project Ed Bear children. They will be there to be the stars of the evening and will enjoy having a large crowd admire their work.

8. The Gala/Auction this year will be held on Monday, November 26th and will be the best one yest. We had 687 people in attendance last year. The children walked the red carpet to receive their OUTSTANDING BRAVERY AWARD and were announced on stage by Tim and Christy from 97.5 WONE. It was WONDERFUL and EMOTIONAL. Make plans to be there this year.

I have SEVERAL other things on the schedule including our interaction with the University of Akron Athletics and will announce that as we firmly schedule events in.

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT . Our website is under construction and is due to launch on JUNE 1st. You will be able to print out auction forms, interact, read what is going on, read about featured children, read about our scholarship winners, donate online, look at auction items on line and view the documentary that I mentioned above. We are very excited about it.

We are opening a twitter account and already have a Project Ed Bear Page that I would love to have you join on Facebook.

We awarded a record number of college scholarships in 2011 which makes my heart sing. The great news is that it looks like we will an even larger number this year.

Stay tuned for more information.

Delivering Easter Fun

Today I will deliver 144 stuffed bunnies and 200 chocolate ones from Mally's Chocolates to Akron Children's Hospital for our Project Ed Bear kids. When a child comes in from today through Easter for treatment (chemo, radiation etc) they will receive one of each. All of the children that are on the oncology/hematology ward will also receive one. This will also be the first delivery to the new hospital in Youngstown. Happy Easter Everyone! Thank you for all of your support. We could not do this without YOU friends.

And this is what we have been up to!

Ordered the Easter Candy for our kids and will be delivering it to Akron Childrens Hospital on April 11th.

We have SO many new and exciting things happening. We will be announcing LIV THRU ART in May so keep watching the blog. It is going to be an over the top wonderful experience and program for our kids.

We have our first 2011 Gala Auction Committee meeting at the end of April.. I know, right..can it be that time already? If you are interested on serving on the committee this year drop me an email at

We are busy now getting ready for Camp. I met with Kim and Doug from Childrens today to discuss details. It is going to be the BEST year ever!

Our scholarship applications keep coming in. So far I know of seven young men and women that scholarships will be awarded to. That is VERY exciting.

I will post again the beginning of April with the "rest of the news"!

Have a blessed day!

We Need Your Help

With Akron Childrens Hospital in Youngstown being added to our list of children we provide for we are in need of several smaller fund raisers through out the year.

Restaurant Fundraisers, Hot Dog Stands, Rummage Sales, Team Sponsored Events, Game Nights, Night at the Races, Personal Garage Sales and Bake Sales are among the ideas that have been given for small fund raisers.

Is anyone willing to host a small fundraiser for Project Ed Bear? Do you know someone or someplace that would be willing?

We have until now been able to fund everything we provide through our Annual Gala Auction that is always held at Quaker Station in Akron the Monday after Thanksgiving and donations from supporters throughout the year.

But we are projected to be serving twice as many children with cancer and blood disorders by this time next year.

If you can help please email me at

Thank you from my heart,
